Another level up for the iconic Metropolis project as Takenaka starts construction

After the successful handover of the foundation slab, the construction of Metropolis has entered its next phase. Takenaka will erect the iconic M-shaped building on the foundations laid by Metrostav. Work is now proceeding on the building’s structure and shell, whose finished form will join Bratislava’s downtown skyline in the first quarter of 2024. According to RK HERRYS, 58% of the apartments have been sold.

The highly respected firm Takaneka began structural work as soon as Metrostav handed over the foundation plate for Metropolis. Monolithic concrete parts are being cast by the Slovak company Moniers, which has rich experience in projects in the same area. The construction of the upper and lower parts of the building with 2 below-ground and 18 above-ground floors is on schedule since April 2022 and completion is slated for March 2024.

“We are proud to open the next phase of Metropolis with the best in the field. Takenaka presented a project that stood out from the crowd by offering alternative solutions. We found them to be a perfect fit,” said Katarína Lindbergh, a partner at Mint Investments, the developer of the Metropolis project, describing their cooperation with Takenaka.

Current work at Metropolis is building directly on the foundation slab. “After handover of the foundations, Takenaka began casting the load-bearing reinforced-concrete exterior and interior walls, columns and ceilings for the second basement. Where the concrete has set, they are now working on the first basement floor,” added Marek Moucha, the project manager.

A high standard of intimate living

Metropolis will be unique not only in its shape, but also in its high standard of materials and use of innovative technologies, such as recuperation. Buyers also appreciate the relatively low number of residential units compared to neighbouring projects, which gives Metropolis a more intimate character.

“We see Metropolis as an elite development that buyers appreciate and value highly. Most of the units are being purchased to live in, which is a sign of the high quality of housing that the development offers. More than 58% of the apartments have already been sold and there is plenty of interest in the others,” says Filip Žoldák from RK HERRYS, which is the exclusive sales agent for Metropolis.
